The Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot is co-sponsored by Shattuc Cord Specialties, Inc. and Lake Cable, and generously supported by brothers and company owners John and Bill Runzel.

Spring time in Chicago!  The snow has melted, the trees and flowers are blooming, and the city is reverberating with cracks of the bat as our north- and south-side rivals remind us that summer is around the corner.  Mother Nature had one last spring shower left in her on April 30th.  Fortunately, that didn’t stop the over 100 participants and 70 volunteers at this year’s 7th annual Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot.

This year marked our greatest turnout yet of combined participants and volunteers as everyone eagerly descended upon the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation in East Dundee, IL.  Participants showed off their skills at a variety of shotgun games including sporting clays, 5-stand, flurry, and Annie Oakley.

Best of all, due to overwhelming support and attendance, we were able to raise over $62,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation!  This foundation, a cause that is near and dear to John and Bill’s hearts, has been one of the largest sources of funding toward medical research and early detection of childhood brain tumors since 1984.

From all of us at Shattuc and Lake, we’d like to thank everyone who participated and donated their time and money to make this our most successful event to date!  We are hard at work planning for next year’s event, so make sure to keep up with us here for more information.
