Description

Fischer Connectors is a Swiss multinational corporation that designs, manufactures and distributes electrical connectors and optical fiber connectors, cable assemblies and connectivity systems.

In 1954 Walter Werner Fischer, a vacuum technology expert from Liechtenstein, founded the company W. W. Fischer in a garage in Morges, Switzerland. As an entrepreneur, he saw a market need and developed the very first high-quality sealed circular connector, designed for industrial applications.

In 1962 the company filed an international patent for its push-pull locking system. In 1964 Fischer developed the world’s first hermetic connector.

Fischer Connectors has eight subsidiaries employing 550 people worldwide (including 280 at its headquarters in Saint-Prex). Additionally, Fischer have cable assembly facilities in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. Fischer Connectors’ circular connectors, electrical and optical, are designed for the most demanding cable assembly solutions and integrated systems. These connectors are used in aerospace, broadcast, defense, energy, food, industrial, instrumentation, marine, medical, nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, robotics, security, transportation vacuum applications. There are over 30,000 standards electrical, optical and hybrid connectors and cables in their portfolio. These cable assemblies are organized across five product lines engineered to fulfill performance needs in terms of high-reliability connectivity, miniaturization, high-speed data transfer, sealing and long-term reliability. Fischer connectors are produced with different materials such as brass, stainless steel, aluminum and plastic. Their designs and configurations vary from high-density miniature signal and power connectors to rugged, sealed, hermetic connectors made to withstand extreme conditions.

In 2018, Fischer Connectors launched a plug & use connectivity solution with 360° mating and a low profile for integration into wearable devices and various applications in the Internet of Things.

Additionally, Fischer manufactures connectors for data transfer, storage and communications management. The company also provides customized solutions for non-standard specifications and requirements.

Fischer’s products comply with international quality standards: ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, REACH and RoHS. Thanks to tight quality processes at their facility in Saint-Prex.

In summary, Fischer Connectors began with an ambitious idea:
