Founded in 1910 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Hitachi, LTD is made up of a vast conglomerate of companies and business units, manufacturing products for industries ranging from Aviation, Automotive, Construction, Defense systems, Digital Media and Consumer Products, to Electronics, Telecommunications, Power systems, and more. With over 300,000 employees and revenues of over $80 billion, Hitachi is one of the largest companies in Japan.

Hitachi Cable America is based in Purchase, NY. The Performance Cable Systems and Materials Division is one of three overall divisions operated by HCA. The division manufactures products focused on Ethernet, Industrial Ethernet, Video (coaxial), Power over Ethernet (PoE), HDMI, Infiniband, and more.

Category cable products include Category 5e, 6, 6A, 7, 7A, and 8. A variety of jacket offerings are available, including plenum, riser, low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) and more. Hitachi manufactures both Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) and shielded cable (both overall shield and individually shielded pair) constructions. Hitachi’s premium Cat6A cable, the Supra 10G-XE™, supports up to 120 watts for Power Over Ethernet (PoE) applications. For outdoor applications, Hitachi manufactures cable that is suitable for direct burial, duct, and underground conduit applications. Constructed with a non-conductive, water blocking gel, it has an overall polyolefin jacket and supports up to 100 watts of power.

Hitachi also has a strong portfolio of fiberoptic products. They manufacture cable in both Single Mode and Multimode versions. Multimode cables are available in OM1 through OM5 versions. Their interconnect line of fiberoptic cable is available in riser, plenum, and LSZH jackets, in 1 fiber, 2 fiber, and zipcord style configurations.

Indoor single-unit fiber cables are available with anywhere from 2 to 24 fibers, in both multimode and singlemode. With both riser and plenum jackets, the cable is suitable for installation in various environments. Multi-unit fiber cables have anywhere from 18 to 144 fibers and have the same jacket options.

Nanocore® fiber cables are distribution style fiber cables, again with anywhere from 2 to 24 fibers. Nanocore® cables are available unarmored or armored. Armored cables, manufactured with aluminum interlock armor, eliminate the need for inner duct or conduit.

In addition to category and fiberoptic cables, Hitachi manufactures a vast array of electronic round cable for computing, audio/video, networking, communications, and connectivity applications. These cables include 24AWG general purpose electronic cables, coaxial cables, control communications, HDMI, hook up wires, harsh environment & industrial solutions, USB cables, and more. HDMI cables are extruded using Hitachi’s state-of-the-art Flometrics Liquid Film™ process for maximum signal integrity.

Hitachi is one of the leaders in coaxial transmission line technology and production. Within the coaxial product line, Hitachi manufactures a variety of 50-ohm and 75-ohm coax. Specialty coax products are available for military, mining, and video applications. Micro-coaxial cables are offered from 36 AWG all the way down to 50 AWG.
