Christopher Gazdic is the Director of Engineering at Shattuc Cord Specialties. Chris is a member of the National Systems Contractors Association and is part of the committee on the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. Chris has extensive knowledge and history in commercial audio/visual, professional live sound engineering and television production. Before working at Shattuc, Chris played a vital role as one of the main process and product engineers at Gepco International and the General Cable Gepco Brand. Chris didn’t start his broadcast career at Gepco though, while attending Columbia College Chicago for Audio Arts and Acoustics, Chris freelanced on the side for various major networks, studios and mobile production companies. One of the jobs resulted in a certificate of appreciation from the White House Communications Agency. Chris continues to freelance on the side for various productions and also co-owns a small live sound company.

Spring time in Chicago!  The snow has melted, the trees and flowers are blooming, and the city is reverberating with cracks of the bat as our north- and south-side rivals remind us that summer is around the corner.  Mother Nature had one last spring shower left in her on April 30th.  Fortunately, that didn’t stop the over 100 participants and 70 volunteers at this year’s 7th annual Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot.

Shattuc proudly announces the addition of Kurt Stein and “Oz” Mike Thiebold, two seasoned Broadcast & Pro A/V veterans, to the Shattuc sales force.

Kurt Stein has been in the Electronic parts distribution and Broadcast Cable Sales industry since 1981. He began his career working for Pacific Radio in Hollywood, California, and spent many years throughout the 80’s and 90’s providing Broadcast supplies and cable to the Recording Studios, Television and Radio stations, and engineers in the heart of Hollywood.

Spring Shoot 2016


7th Annual Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot, a charity event on behalf of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Shattuc is a big supporter of the Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot, an event that takes aim in helping fight pediatric brain tumors. Join us for a day of sporting clays, flurry, 5-stand and fun! A charity event on behalf of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, the world's largest nonprofit funder of childhood brain tumor research. They serve the more than 28,000 children in the United States who are living with the diagnosis of a brain tumor. Programs include free educational information about brain tumors, college scholarships, Ride for Kids motorcycle charity events, Starry Night walk/runs and more, including the Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot.

It is constructed with a solid 23 AWG bare copper center conductor, foam polyethylene dielectric, foil and 97% tinned copper braid shield, with a CMR rated PVC jacket. It has a diameter of .160” +/- .005” and a weight of 20 Lbs per 1000 feet. The AVB23HDTV is comparable to the Gepco VDM230 and <Belden 1855A coaxial cables.
